Working in news allows me to do what I love most:  learn something new everyday.  Anyone who knows me can easily say I'm always "trying out" something or looking for the next challenge in my life. I truely love learning!

I graduated from the University of West Florida with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. I earned a Masters degree in Public and Corporate Communication from the University of South Alabama. I've published research in media effects.

I worked at several stations in Alabama before coming to Texas where I have built strong ties within the community through mentorships and community service. For the past four years, I've taught broadcast courses at Lamar University.

I am a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, President of the Southeast Texas Association of Black Journalists, Southeast Texas Press Club, Beaumont Junior League, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

I also serve as a board member for the non-profit Girls Haven and the United Way of Mid and Jefferson County.

In my spare time I enjoy working out, singing, salsa dancing, and spending time with my family.
